Species: G. Yetivorous
Evolutionary History:
The Yeti evolved into what it is while sharing with the eastern gorilla a common ancestor. A few groups of this common ancestor decided to disband from the rest and gradually moved from Africa to Asia, going through several present-day countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Pakistan. These creatures eventually reached Nepal and found their way into the Himalayan mountains. Here they began to evolve, gaining the traits that would be required to adapt and survive. An important trait that they evolved into was their ability to stand for long periods of time on two feet; the height advantage increases their range of vision and allows them to access items of interest at higher positions. Another evolved trait is their thick coat of white fur, which shields them from the harsh cold and lets them blend in with the snow when exploring, hunting, etc.
